Little Rock Christian Instrumental Music
Little Rock Christian Wind Symphony is complied of the top instrumentalists in the school. The Wind Symphony performs at concerts, chapel ceremonies, as well as special mission events throughout the year. Students in the Wind Symphony are encouraged to participate in ASBOA regional and state level events and assessments and ASBOA Solo & Ensemble and takes at least one educational and one mission trip each year. The last trip taken was to Memphis, Tennessee, where the students recorded at Ardent Studios,home to such recording greats as Bob Dylan, Todd Agnew, BB King, Three Doors Down, Randy Travis as well many others.
The Concert/ Marching Band is a performance group that presents concerts in the fall and spring as well as playing for high school football, basketball and other sporting events. Concert band also performs for various school functions and participates in spring state competitions.
Jazz Band is a performance group for experienced players ready to be challenged and stretched in their talent. This group performs at school concerts with additional appearances in the Little Rock area. The music is focused on great jazz artists such as Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington.
Beginning Band is for sixth graders interested in playing a wind or percussion instrument for the first time. Students learn how to read music and the fundamentals necessary to perform in three concerts a year.
Middle School Band is for students who have 1-3 years of experience. The Middle School Band performs at select junior high football games and school concerts. Middle School Band students are encouraged to audition for the JR High All Region Band and participate in ASBOA Solo & Ensemble. The Middle School Band attends one festival a year for assessment and has various trips depending on the year.
Senior High Band consists of both the Marching Warriors and Little Rock Christian Wind Symphony.
The Marching Warriors perform at all home football games, pep rallies, various school events, and attend at least two marching assessments each year.
Beginner Strings is for sixth graders interested in playing an orchestral string instrument for the first time. Students learn how to read music and the fundamentals necessary to perform in three concerts a year.
Middle School String Orchestra is for students who have 1-3 years of experience. The Middle School String Orchestra performs in at least two concerts a semeste rand students are encouraged to audition for the All Region Orchestras and participate in Solo & Ensemble.
Senior Strings is an advanced ensemble of strings with three or more years of experience and participates in festival assessments and ASBOA Solo & Ensemble Competition. Members of Senior Strings audition for All Region, All State, the Arkansas Youth Symphony, and the Youth Rock Orchestras.
Warrior Jazz is composed of students currently enrolled in the senior high levels of band or orchestra that have an interest in learning the styles associated with jazz music. Warrior Jazz performs in school concerts andr pep rallies.
