Warrior Choir
Our Choral Music Program currently has two high school choral groups:
This year’s 66 member Warrior Choir (open to grades 9-12), performs a wide variety of musical genres. Their repetoire includes both a cappella and accompanied classical, chamber music, sacred, spiritual, contemporary and Broadway numbers. Performances during the year include the Fall Concert, Christmas Concert, singing at the Capitol, Region and State Spring Festivals and Spring Concert. The Warrior Choir and the Warrior Men are directed by Mrs. Jani Quay. The Warrior Ladies are directed by Mrs. Sheri Swindler. Students in this choir may audition for All-Region Choir, and (if they qualify to do so) All State Choir, as well as Regional and State Solo Festivals.
- Our Madrigal Choir is an 18-member auditioned ensemble which performs more challenging a cappella numbers throughout the school year at the above regularly scheduled concerts. Repertoire will be primarily madrigal music with additional music ranging from classical to contemporary, from Christian to Broadway. The choir also participates in AAA competitions and special outside performances as requested, and is directed by Mrs. Jani Quay.
The Middle School has three Choral groups:
- Sixth Grade Choir is made up of the entire class and falls under the direction of Mrs. Pam Davis. They learn to perform a variety of unison and two-part pieces at chapel services during the school year.
- 7th and 8th Grade Mixed Choirs are directed by Mrs. Jani Quay. These two ensembles perform at the school's Christmas and Spring Concerts, as well as at the Capitol during the Christmas season. Both sing 3-to 4-part songs in a variety of genres, including choreography at the Spring Concert. 8th Grade students may participate in All Region Choir auditions and in Regional Solo Festival, at the director’s determination.
