Dear Warrior Family,

Every day, outside my window, I watch the construction crew dig ditches in preparation for erecting the new Little Rock Christian high school building.

Ditches… lots of ditches… time-consuming ditches… expensive ditches.

It’s as if the Lord has something to teach me about ditches.

Sure enough, the December 7th reading in the classic devotional Streams in the Desert is about digging ditches. And, it inspires me to rejoice in the ditches even more. Let me share it with you. The devotional writer notes:

“You will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you … will drink. This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord.” (2 Kings 3:17-18)

“Whenever I have seen God’s wondrous work … the thing that has always impressed me most is the absolute quietness in which it was done. I have also been impressed by the absence of anything sensational and dramatic, and the utter sense of my own uselessness as I stood in the presence of this mighty God, realizing how easy all this was for Him to do … In the above story from Scripture, the people were asked to “make the valley full of ditches.” (2 Kings 3:16) The people obeyed and water came pouring in from some supernatural source to fill them. What a lesson!”

As we go forward into the final stretch of our capital campaign that will transform the campus in ways that touch every family and every student, we are seeking 100% participation. We are convinced that the entire school community of over 700 families can close the gap of 1.5 million dollars. Instead of focusing on seven digits ($1,500,000), let’s focus on three (100%). If you have not yet volunteered to help make the “valley full of ditches,” please lend a hand. Help us radically improve our capacity to provide your family with the fullness and excellence of a preparatory education grounded and centered in Jesus Christ.

Grab a shovel (download pledge card). Let’s dig ditches. Let’s see what God will do. Together we can.

Faithfully yours,

Gary B. Arnold
Head of School
