Alumni Basketball Game

The LRCA gym was filled with hoots and hollers on Saturday, April 12 when alumni Warriors and current Warrior players and coaches took to the hardwoods.  These players showed tenacious spirit, great sportsmanship, and good humor both on and off the court.  Darrell Smith provided entertaining and informative play-by-play for the game while Jason Carson, Michael Johnson and Randy Robertson did a great job officiating.

The half-time show provided time for players, friends and family to honor Coach Dewey Pennell.  The crowd shared stories about the impact Coach Pennell has made on so many individuals.  Players from Coach Pennell’s past coaching stops were also in attendance to participate in the special event.  Coach Pennell was presented with an award highlighting his accomplishments at LRCA.  These accomplishments include: Four State Tournament Appearances, 2005 3A State Champions, 2006 3A State Runner-UP, Four Conference Championships, and an Overall Win/Loss Record of 121-54.
     
The spectators were treated to the athletic prowess and skilled ball-handling of the two teams, whose game ended in a final score of 58-56.  Thanks to all the players and supporters for a fun and festive evening sponsored by the Warrior Club and the Development Office.
