Warrior Choir

Our Choral Music Program currently has four high school choral groups:

  • The Warrior Choir (open to grades 9-12), performs a wide variety of musical genres.  Their repertoire includes both a cappella and accompanied classical, sacred, spiritual, and contemporary and Broadway numbers.  Performances during the year include the Christmas Concert, singing at the State Capitol, and our Spring Concert. The Warrior Choir and the Warrior Men are directed by Mrs. Jani Quay. The Warrior Ladies are directed by Mrs. Pam Davis.

  • Our Madrigal Choir is an auditioned mixed ensemble for grades 10-12 which performs more challenging numbers throughout the school year at the above regularly scheduled concerts.  Their repertoire is primarily madrigal music and includes cappella settings, chamber music, spirituals, classical, contemporary, and sacred.

  • The LRCA Belles is an auditioned group for ladies in grades10-12, directed by Mrs. Pam Davis. They perform a variety of styles of music in close harmony, both accompanied and a cappella. They frequently perform joint –choreographed numbers with the LRCA Beaux at our concert venues.

  • The LRCA Beaux is the auditioned group for gentlemen in grades 10-12, directed by Mrs. Jani Quay.  They specialize in “barbershop” and “spiritual” styles, especially a cappella arrangements. Together with the LRCA Belles, they frequently perform in school concerts and at off-campus venues.

    • Students in Madrigal Choir, Belles and Beaux will learn and perform the All Region Music at our Fall Concert. They may then audition for All-Region Choir, and (if they qualify to do so) All State Choir, as well as State Solo Festival.

    • These choirs also participate in AAA competitions such as Fall Invitational Festival and Spring Regional and State CPA.   They also do special outside performances by invitation, and are the vocal performance groups which travel to represent our school.

The Middle School has three Choral groups:

  • Sixth Grade Choir currently boasts 90 members and sings enthusiastically and energetically under the direction of Mrs. Pam Davis. Classes consist of two Girls’ Groups and two Boys’ Groups, which rehearse both separately and together. The groups combine for concerts, which include Christmas, Spring Concert and various Middle School school chapels and special parent-focused performances throughout the year.

  • 7th & 8th Grade Mixed Choir is directed by Mrs. Jani Quay.   This ensemble performs at the school's Christmas and Spring Concerts, as well as at the Capitol during the Christmas season.  Both sing 3-to 4-part songs in a variety of genres, including numbers with choreography at the Spring Concert.  Students may learn the Jr. High All Region Music  to try out for the All Region Choir at the director’s determination.
