Studio Arts

The Studio Arts program at LRCA seeks to cultivate the God-given talents of our students by providing a variety of venues for student learning and achievement in the arts. Our vision for the arts is founded upon the idea of God as the Master Creator. We desire to instill in students an appreciation for the arts as well as a desire to use their gifts for God’s glory. Whatever the artistic journey, students emerge with greater insights into their Creator as well as themselves.

Students will use a variety of materials as they learn to draw realistically and with imagination.

Elementary Students are introduced to creative opportunities using a variety of media and techniques, challenging them to increase in skill as well as confidence. Students are taught aesthetic awareness, and encouraged to investigate their artistic potential. The study of art history and appreciation begins in the early grades as students learn who, how, why, when, and where a masterpiece was created. Art styles are explored from renaissance to impressionism, expressionism and pop art. Students learn about design, composition, color, line, contrast, shape and texture.
