A key target of our upward trek this year is higher ground - higher ground in spiritual maturity and the education we provide.
Higher Ground in Math - Little Rock Christian is committing and preparing to lift our K-7 math program to higher ground. Based on a twelve month, rigorous review - including consultation with strong peer benchmarks - LRCA has adopted a proven math curriculum entitled Math in Focus, otherwise known as "Singapore Math." There will be an orientation meeting for all parents, K-7, who are interested in learning more about the idiosyncrasies of Math in Focus. You are invited to come and learn more about how to partner with LRCA Math Faculty in this endeavor. Math and homework go hand-in-hand so this change will touch your life. That's a good thing. You will know first-hand that your child's brain is being stretched and his or her math skills are being sharpened for a very demanding future in a very STEM world.

| Higher Ground in Biblical Worldview - Seven of the High School Biblical Worldview faculty volunteered for training in the Harkness method of instruction. Thanks to the Maclellan Foundation, our instructional approach in BWV will be refined in order to increase and deepen our students' engagement. The BWV faculty will, over time, increasingly deploy more and more Harkness methods to prepare our students for university-level dialogue on the important questions of origins, meaning, ethics and destiny. Thank you for entrusting your children to Little Rock Christian as we partner with you in their journey "upward toward the call of Christ Jesus." (Phil 3:14) And, remember, our common guidebook for this energizing journey is the Bible. It's the map and the compass to make sure we stay on the trail. | |

| Athlete of the Week - Christie Elliott Christie Elliott has been named as the Warrior Athlete of the Week. A member of the Warrior Volleyball team, Christie is serving her second year as a captain. Christie has a 60% kill average in conference play and leads the team in kills and hitting percentages. She also leads the team with ace serves.
