CONGRATULATIONS ARKANSAS MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE WINNERS

November 17-18th LRCA attended the 41st Annual Arkansas Model United Nations conference at the University of Central Arkansas.  Over 500 students from 29 high schools participated in simulating the decision-making bodies of the UN. Students from across the state represented 74 countries in 9 committees.  The competition was tough as individual delegates and delegations strove for awards of distinction.  Our model UN club represented Benin and The Netherlands.  The Netherlands delegation won Best Delegation Honorable Mention (only 4 countries were chosen.) Outstanding Committee Delegate awards were presented to Chris Mullen, Kimberly Beane, and Grant Hilton.  We had a great time and learned an enormous amount about the way governments work together.
