Students are expected to sit for their exams at the established time. In the event of emergency or illness the day of the exam, the parent should notify the office of the absence, and the student can reschedule with the teacher. If there is an extenuating circumstance of another sort that would merit rescheduling, please contact Andy Baxley (andy.baxley@littlerockchristian.com) to discuss. Any rescheduled exams will be administered under the same distraction free, secure conditions as regular exams.
During the testing time
Unless a student is testing with Learner Services, all testing is contained during the allotted 80 minute time frame. Final examinations all end at the same time. No extra time will be given unless the student is testing with Learner Services and it is an approved accommodation.
Students should expect to use the whole testing time or, if finished before 80 minutes, remain silent, even if all students are finished in the room: this emulates testing students encounter with ACT/PSAT and reduces distractions in the building while also reducing pressure to hurry. No student should leave the room during testing except in an emergency.
Students will not have access to devices (i.e. chromebooks, cell phones, smart watches, etc.), during the exam time, even after the exam is completed. Devices are relegated to break times during exam days. If a Chromebook or calculator is needed for the exam the teacher will inform the students of the approved device and monitor its usage.
On exam days
Students are only required to be at school when they have exams. Students who are at school and not taking an exam will go the commons to study quietly.
Students who miss an exam, and the absence is unexcused (such as oversleeping) will be deducted a late penalty.
Sprouts will serve substantial snacks before, in between, and after exams. No lunch will be served on exam days.
