Warriors

It is hard to believe another school year has come to a close.  This time last year we were preparing to unveil a new high school building and a transformed campus.  God has done amazing things at Little Rock Christian this year, and we are extremely grateful.

While you prepare to conclude the year and start enjoying summer activities we will be working towards more campus improvement projects.  Here’s a status report.

  • The board of trust approved renovations to Warrior Field.  Artificial turf installation will begin the last week of school and should wrap up around August 1, 2010.
  • The baseball and softball field projects have progressed significantly over the past few weeks.  The practice fields should be finished by the time school starts back in the fall.  Additional funding is still needed for both fields to reach full playing potential (i.e. lighting and bleachers).  If you are interested in giving to these projects please give us a call.

These projects are being paid for in cash thanks by many donors.  We appreciate your partnership!

There are several new initiatives planned for the 2010-2011 school year

  • The Warrior Fund – We are in the process of establishing our first annual fund.  This fund will be initiated to bless teachers with funding for classroom development, ensuring our classrooms and/or programs are equipped with curriculum tools and furnishings needed to support an excellent learning environment.  Specific items and a goal for the inaugural Warrior Fund will be released in September.
  • The 2010 Gist Memorial Golf Tournament – This will be the 8th year for this keystone event.  We are pleased to announce this year the event will benefit Arkansas Baptist College and the Little Rock Christian Scholarship Fund.  Plan on joining us Monday, November 1 at Pleasant Valley Country Club for a fun golf outing while raising awareness of the urban renewal project taking place in the heart of Little Rock.
  • Planned Giving Program – All gifts to Little Rock Christian have tremendous potential to transform young lives in lasting and powerful ways.  We rely on donors to give their time and resources during their lifetimes, but we also understand that in order to further enhance the programs we offer we need to develop a planned giving program.  Planned gifts can be arranged in several ways, the most common being through a will (bequest); however there are many other options to consider. The entire giving program will be introduced in September.

Have a safe summer.  We look forward to seeing you back on campus in August!

Serving Him with you,
