Little Rock Christian Academy Hosts Inaugural Legacy Dinner

A Legacy dinner was held on October 15, 2009 at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in the Great Hall.  The dinner honored LRCA board members from the past 32 years and members of the “For Such a Time as This” capital campaign committee.  Special guests included Mr. Roger Yancey, first (Walnut Valley Christian Academy) head of school and his wife Ruth Yancey.  Mr. Yancey and Mrs. Ann Owen Chami, Elementary Principal at LRCA, entertained the guests with reflections on the Walnut Valley and Little Rock Christian legacy.  Performances were provided by the LRCA Beaux and Belles choir ensembles throughout the evening.  The guests also enjoyed hearing remarks from Dr. Gary Arnold, Head of School and Mr. Gene Whisenhunt, current Board of Trustees President of LRCA and Governor Mike Huckabee (via video).  “What you are doing and what you can do with your newly transformed campus is good for families, good for Little Rock, good for Arkansas and good for America” said Governor Huckabee.  “Keep up the good work, stay the course, grow the enthusiasm, and continue forward”.
