Dinesh D' Souza Speaks to Little Rock Christian Academy Students

January 27, 2011

Little Rock Christian Academy welcomed best-selling author and debater Dinesh D’Souza to its campus yesterday.  He spoke to an assembly of high school students, parents and faculty primarily on the topic of cultural Christianity. Here’s what they had to say about his remarks.

“D’Souza is thought provoking and brilliant.  The discernment with which our teachers and students vetted his address was encouraging and affirming of the deep thinking and soul work we do in our BWV classes.  Students and teachers are so thankful for the opportunity to hear from a speaker of his caliber.” - Kim Fullerton, Department Chair, Biblical Worldview grades 6-12

“Our sophomore students were energized by his knowledge and loved his simple logic” .
- 10th BWV teacher Faith Best

“Some of the strongest points our juniors brought away from Mr. D’Souza were that there are answers to the hard questions, that the Christian faith is a rational faith, and that there are sound reasons for why we believe what we believe.” -11th BWV teacher Danny Erlandson

“Our students found Mr. D’Souza very effective in helping Christians understand their place in history, but recognized that reason alone does not suffice in bringing a person to true repentance and submission to God.” - 12th BWV teacher Rebecca Howell

Dinesh, who is the president of The King’s College in New York City, said “We bring (to the college) the most powerful Christian thinkers in all fields and use those minds to shape young people and society.”

He has been called one of the "top young public-policy makers in the country" by Investor’s Business Daily. The New York Times Magazine named him one of America's most influential conservative thinkers. The World Affairs Council lists him as one of the nation's 500 leading authorities on international issues. Newsweek cited him as one of the country's most prominent Asian Americans.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College in 1983.  A former policy analyst in the Reagan White House,  D'Souza also served as John M. Olin Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and the Robert and Karen Rishwain Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.  D'Souza's books have had a major influence on public opinion and public policy.

D'Souza's articles have appeared in virtually every major magazine and newspaper, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Atlantic Monthly, Vanity Fair, New Republic, and National Review. He has appeared on numerous television programs, including the Today Show, Nightline, The News Hour, O'Reilly Factor, Moneyline, and Hannity and Colmes.

Dinesh D'Souza speaks at top universities, business groups, civic groups, and churches across the country. We were honored to have had him right here at Little Rock Christian Academy.

"Success is defined by one’s ability to tell the difference between what’s right and wrong, and to strive as best as humanly possible to do what’s right. To me, success and goodness are synonymous."

— Dinesh D'Souza
