Kidz RAP Touches Hearts and Helps Homeless

February 8, 2011

Last month, Little Rock Christian’s theme for Kidz RAP* was "Love and Warmth for the Homeless".  Both adult and children volunteers took time to serve by making cards, totes, scarves and prayer journals for the homeless.

An unbelievable 360 pounds of winter coats, gloves and scarves were distributed between Our House, Compassion Center and the Methodist Children's Home.

Kim Sweetin was among the volunteers who delivered the winter wear to Our House homeless shelter.  Kim said, “They were sooooo appreciative.  They were wearing the backpack totes and the scarves (made by our volunteers).  One lady said that she has been at the shelter for two years and has never been given anything so thoughtful.  I am so proud of the children at LRCA.”

The mission at Kidz RAP is "To instill service in the hearts of families through hands-on ministry opportunities.”  Titus 2:7 reads "And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind."  This is what the volunteers at LRCA do; they set an example by doing kind works for those less fortunate through opportunities with Kidz RAP.

The families of LRCA Kidz RAP made:

98 cards

102 prayer journals

107 tote bags

102 scarves

For a total of 409 projects plus 360 lbs. of coats!!
