Little Rock Christian Academy Welcomes Sanam Bhutto of Pakistan

Sanam “Sunny” Bhutto visited the campus of Little Rock Christian during a morning assembly in order to share her story with the students.

Sanam Bhutto (born 1957) is the younger sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.  She is the only surviving child of the late former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto.  She attended Harvard's Radcliffe College and is currently starting a foundation to help bridge the poverty gap in Pakistan.  She has been suggested as a potential leader of the Pakistan People’s Party to replace her assassinated sister Benazir, but Sanam has absolutely no interest in a career in politics, rather a desire to increase the humanitarian cause in her country through charitable entities.

While in office, her sister brought electricity to the countryside and built schools all over the country. She made hunger, housing and health care her top priorities, and looked forward to continuing to modernize Pakistan. These are the same causes that Sunny would like to continue through her nonprofit foundation, which she plans to headquarter in Little Rock, Arkansas.
