LITTLE ROCK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY STUDENTS RAISE OVER $7,000 FOR
WORLD VISION HOPE CHILD PROGRAM

Little Rock – March 23, 2009

Little Rock Christian Academy students sponsored the inaugural Hope Child Charity Golf Tournament on March 14, raising over $7000 for World Vision.  Seventy-six golfers participated in the tournament held at the Country Club of Arkansas.

The tournament was sponsored by a LRCA high school club called “The Movement”.    The Movement is a student-created, student-led organization with the goal of serving the Lord through raising global poverty awareness on campus and in the community.  The money raised from the golf tournament will be used to provide basic healthcare supplies for AIDS relief workers around the globe.  Students will then assemble care packages to be sent out to workers in Africa.  Faculty sponsor, Heather Tarpley, shares “The students are learning that when a lot of people give just a little, a great deal can be accomplished when we all come together for a common purpose.”

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.  World Vision provides hope and assistance to approximately 100 million people in nearly 100 countries. In communities around the world, they join with local people to find lasting ways to improve the lives of poor children and families.  In 2007, 86 percent of World Vision's total revenue was designated for programs that benefit children, families, and communities in need.
