LRCA Student Winner of NCTE Junior Writing Contest

Photo: Anna LiLRCA's English Department announced Monday that senior, Anna Li is one of eight winners in the state of Arkansas in the 2010 NCTE Junior Writing Contest, a program included on the National Association of Secondary School Principals National Advisory List of Student Contests and Activities.  This national contest is highly competitive and open to high school junior writers.  A total of 1,641 juniors were nominated by their schools to participate in the 2010 program with only 543 chosen as outstanding writers. 

Participants must respond to an impromptu selection by the National Council of Teachers of English and submit a ten page writing portfolio which requires adherence to strict guidelines.  All compositions were read by two judges—one high school and one college English teacher.  Congratulations, Anna for being recognized as one of the best student writers in the nation!
