Little Rock Christian Academy Athletic Director Selected for Arkansas High School Coaches Hall of Fame

Little Rock – February 10, 2010

Little Rock Christian Academy announced that Johnny Watson, Athletic Director, has been elected to the Arkansas High School Coaches Hall of Fame.  Mr. Watson was selected along with six other coaches to be inducted into the sixteenth class. 

Mr. Watson coached football for a total of 35 years at Paragould, Fordyce, Jacksonville and Little Rock Christian Academy.  Watson’s team accomplishments include 236 winning games, 21 state playoff appearances, two state championships, one state runner up and eight conference titles.  He has been awarded Conference Coach of the Year five times, All Star Coach three times, Arkansas High School coach of the Year 2007, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Arkansas Coach of the Year 2007 and National Christian School Coach of the Year 2007. 

According to the AHSCA Hall of Fame Executive Committee, 25 nominees were chosen and AHSCA members were invited to vote for the nominees.  There are currently 96 members in the AHSCA Hall of Fame.   An induction banquet will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center on July 16, 2010 to honor the 2010 Hall of Fame class.
