Little Rock Christian Academy Students Raise Over $8000 For African OrphanageFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Little Rock – March 4, 2010
The orphanage in Ghana in called the Bongo Children’s Home. There are 14 children living in the home that range in age from five to thirteen. LRCA was hopeful to provide school tuition, uniforms, lunch and books for each child through the service project. The $8026.48 raised will provide these resources along with three bunk beds, twelve sleeping mats and enhancements to harvest and hen house production. The Bongo children raise peanuts, tomatoes, millet, okra and eggs for their own consumption. “We are amazed by the generosity the elementary students and their families have shown to the children in the Bongo House”, said Carlee Wellons, LRCA Elementary Assistant Principal. “The children in Africa know we are praying and sacrificing for them”.
