Little Rock Christian Academy French Students Participate in District and State Foreign Language FestivalFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Little Rock – May 4, 2010 On Saturday, February 20th, LRCA French students competed in the District Foreign Language Festival at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. Gold medal winners were Colleen Hedges for level IV Poetry Recitation, Melia Stearns for level III Poetry Recitation, Aly Fox for level IV Extemporaneous Reading, and Laura Beth Moore for overall French Talent. Heather Casey won a silver medal in the Advanced French Vocabulary Bee, and Aly Fox earned two bronze medals in Poetry Recitation and in the Advanced French Vocabulary Bee. In addition to the medal winners, students who earned scores of distinguished (90% or higher) in their individual events were Ruthie Daniel for Art, Jared Harris and Rachel Stuart for level IV Poetry Recitation, Juliann Tucker for level III Poetry Recitation, Melia Stearns for Level III Extemporaneous Reading, and Courtney Hampton for Level II Poetry Recitation and Extemporaneous Reading. These students earned the privilege of competing in the State Foreign Language Festival on Saturday, April 17th on the campus of Harding University in Searcy. Colleen Hedges earned first place in Advanced Level Poetry Recitation and Aly Fox earned second place in the same event. Aly Fox also earned third place in the Advanced Level Vocabulary Bee.
