LRCA COOKBOOK: Whip It Up Warrior Style

The first-ever Little Rock Christian cookbook is now available for pre-order.  Whip It Up Warrior Style is the PTF’s newest fundraiser that includes almost 600 delicious recipes from students, parents, grandparents and LRCA staff.  The cookbook is a unique and true reflection of our school’s history from its humble beginnings to our current accomplishments; including our service projects, Fine Arts programs and Warrior Athletics.

Congratulations to our art students.  They have designed a beautiful cookbook to accompany the tasty recipes contributed.  Jordan Stokke, an 11th grader designed the front cover of the cookbook and Lauren Worthington, a10th grader designed the back cover.  The following students created the art work for the eight dividers and the art acknowledgement page:  Abby Vondran (6th grade), Eli Carpenter (2nd grade), Ellen Woodson (11th grade), Karis Yoon (8th grade), Gaby LoRusso (3rd grade), London Farrar (8th grade), Emma Minden (4th grade), Kent Johnson (5th grade), Charley Peyton (1st grade) and Caroline Chumley (3rd grade).

The cost of the cookbook is $25 and will be available in late April.  To reserve a copy for yourself, please use this order form. Forms are also available in each school’s office (elementary, middle school, and high school) and the LRCA Administration House.  Completed forms may be returned to any of these locations.

WARRIORFEST/SILENT AUCTION UPDATE:

October 3, 2009 was a very busy day for Little Rock Christian Academy.  The Lord blessed us with a beautiful fall day and we began very early that morning preparing for an exciting day in our school's history.  WarriorFest began at 10:00 a.m. on the grounds of the new high school.  Students, parents, friends and families all converged on to campus for a day of fun, fellowship, entertainment and great tasting food.......all in support of our school!  Later that evening, the annual Boots-n-Barbeque Bash was held at the Wildwood Performing Arts Park.  The beautiful setting was ideal for this night and over 300 people attended. Thank you to all those who supported these two events.  We were able to raise over $70,000.  These funds will enable the PTF to grant the special requests we receive from the school.  Be looking for information on these events next year.  The WarriorFest will be held in the Fall of 2010 and the Auction is being moved to the Spring of 2011. 

 


 

Mission Statement

Our mission is to support the families, staff, and faculty of Little Rock Christian Academy through volunteers, events, and fundraising.

Anyone who is the parent or guardian of a student enrolled at Little Rock Christian and who subscribes to the policies and philosophy of the school and PTF, is a member.  PTF has a governing council consisting of Executive Officers.  The council meets monthly to discuss and vote on business of the PTF.  These meetings are typically the 2nd Monday of each month in the Athletic Conference Room.  All Little Rock Christian parents are welcome to attend.  The Executive Officers are selected by recruitment or volunteering for a minimum of one or two year terms, depending on the office.  Committee Chairpersons also volunteer or are recruited to serve for a typical term of two years.

Want to schedule an after school play date, join a carpool or meet at the Warrior game? Then the LRCA Family Directory is for you! Directories can be ordered through the Parent Packet as well as during bookstore hours. The cost is $10.00 and proceeds go to support various PTF projects. All directories will be sent home with your family's youngest student in mid-September.

Kroger Cards (K-Kards)
Join the PTF in the pursuit of "easy money" for our school! Purchase a Kroger Card through the Parent Packet or at the bookstore for $5.00, load any dollar amount on it before your groceries are scanned and LRCA gets 5% of each transaction! Below is a breakdown of the potential earnings for our school if all of our families participated. Also, to show our appreciation for using your Kroger  K-Kards, we will have a monthly drawing.  If your name is drawn,  you will receive a $20.00 gift card from Kroger. You helped raise $17,000.00 last year for our school just by using your K-Kards.

Domino's Pizza Night will be the 2nd Wed. of the month.  Mark your calendars and order some pizza! Look for monthly incentives such as classroom pizza parties and drawings for cash!

LRCA Cookbook:
 A unique school fundraiser is being developed this year and will be available Spring 2010.  The LRCA Cookbook will feature favorite recipes from our school's families and staff.  Your special recipes are welcome for consideration and can be emailed to ptf@littlerockchristian.com or they can be sent to the LRCA admin office.  Committees are now forming and anyone interested is most welcome!  Please contact Christy Bray: 821-2099, Shelley Chumley: 821-7765 or Deborah Roberts: 821-5474.
