LRCA's Annual Harkness Conference

The Harkness Conference at LRCA focuses on the “why” and “how” of teaching by way of discussion. The conference will incorporate classroom observations in multiple disciplines in grades 8-12 giving conference participants a front row seat. Since school will be in session, we will have limited space (20 slots), so register early!

Participants will learn about designing, facilitating and launching Harkness discussions in the context of upper school classrooms in a Christian school setting. This training will include breakout sessions on topics such as pre-Harkness planning, post-Harkness reflection, troubleshooting, and the intersection of Biblical Worldview and Harkness. This conference is particularly helpful for Christian junior high and high school educators interested in discussion-based, student-centered learning.
