Walnut Valley Farm (WVF) provides a hands-on learning environment which extends outside the classroom and into the dedicated half acre landscape on campus. Our space provides an engaging atmosphere where students grow in connection with nature, exploring the biodynamics of small-scale sustainable farming practices.
Students learn how to care for the animals, sow and harvest a variety of crops, and tend to various chores while developing responsibility and resourcefulness. Students even get to enjoy the fruits of their labor by tasting some of the delicious produce the farm provides! High school coursework facilitates project-based learning activities that are constantly evolving, taking the student's curiosities and interests into account to develop inquiry-based learning and essential life skills. WVF is an LRCA treasure that encourages hands-on learning to deepen student connections to the natural environment and to their faith as they work to explore all that God conveys through agriculture.
