Overview
The Arts at Little Rock Christian
Our desire at Little Rock Christian is to cultivate the talents of our students by providing a variety of venues for student learning and achievement. While a diverse knowledge of the arts is developed, we believe cultivating an art form also stretches and grows a student's character. In addition to creativity and expression, a study in the arts produces persistence, patience, consistency, respect, and a teachable mindset.
In the Visual Arts, faculty seek to refine the gift of creativity reflected in each student through exemplary art instruction with depth and integrity. Students develop an appreciation for transcendent design and the ability to express truth and beauty in a variety of media. Students develop higher-level problem-solving skills, examine the human experience through history and culture, experiment with a wide range of design elements, and seek to glorify God through the enjoyment and development of their artwork. At Little Rock Christian Academy we believe art enriches the lives of our students and helps to develop the whole child.
Performing Arts at Little Rock Christian provides a comprehensive, balanced, and sequential learning experience in theatrical and musical arts. Students are given the opportunity to develop their personal talents through expression, imagination, and creation. Performing arts programs are designed with rigorous curriculum, cross-curricular experiences, and opportunities to perform through community partnerships locally and abroad. Music and theatre faculty meet ethical and rigorous standards of excellence through state and national certification. Students will acquire knowledge in the pursuit of artistic excellence, learning to honor, worship, and reflect Christ through performance, service, and lifelong enjoyment.
All of Little Rock Christian's high school arts programs are activity involved in their respective regional academic associations, and attend workshops, clinics, and competitions each semester.
Students are also given the opportunity to explore, develop, or enhance a skill in Little Rock Christian's Fine Arts Academy. Weekly private and group lessons are offered in all areas of the arts and are based on age and skill level.
Whether a student pursues the Arts as a career or as an enhancement, the Arts at Little Rock Christian offers the academic and extra-curricular opportunities needed to support and advance their goals.
