"Happy Days" by Carol Ann McClendon
This piece depicts the role of women in the 50’s, the Happy Days. During that time period, women were faced with unrealistic expectations to be beautiful housewives. I decided to combine 2 source photos to show how women had to look perfect while doing all of the housework and tending to their husbands and children. I decided to use colored pencil for this piece because it is very precise, so I thought it could relate to the perfect stereotype of women in the 50’s.
