"The Gift" by Josh Brunson
There were many challenges to my artwork such as shading and my hand pressure. I have learned more about portraiture and its craft and the work it goes into it. I have learned how to capture emotion and the impact of shading.
This artwork meant a lot to me because I was able to gift this boy a portrait of himself for Christmas. Through this opportunity, I have learned how art can have an impact on others. The thought of seeing his joyful face once he got to see the portrait I made of him was with me every line and stroke. I wanted to make this portrait extra special with every detail and even added his favorite color red which just happens to be mine as well.
