"The Phone Call" by Addie Beardsley

For this piece, my goal was to accomplish the 3-4 requirements that were leftover from my last two. So for this piece my focuses would be on contrast and realization. It needed to include a portrait with hands as well as be a mixed media piece.

To focus on contrast, I decided to have the piece in black and white, which would limit my mixed media options.

Realization went really well with my requirement of making a portrait with hands since we often use our hands to show emotion.

I made the choice of using modeling paste and mixing it with india ink for the mixed media aspect. I also used charcoal, regular india ink, and graphite in my piece.
