Students can put their artistic vision on display for the opportunity to earn a scholarship to SCAD, the university for creative careers. The SCAD Challenge competition is open to current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2017-18 academic year. Entries must demonstrate creativity, innovation and a strong understanding of aesthetics. A panel of SCAD faculty will review and evaluate submitted entries, and three winners will be selected from each category.
The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the Educational Theatre Association’s student honorary organization. ITS recognizes the achievements of high school and middle school theatre students. Since 1929, EdTA has inducted more than 2 million Thespians into ITS.
The goals of the LRCA Thespian Troop:
- recognize, reward, and encourage continuing student achievement
- celebrate the work of all theatre student artists and technicians
- provide student leadership opportunities
- participation in conferences, festivals, and awards
- promote student recognition and scholarship opportunities

Auditions for "Steel Magnolias" will be held on August 22 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Warrior Hall. Auditions are open to 9 - 12th graders. Register for auditions here.
