Elementary

The early childhood and elementary curriculum is designed to prepare students for lifelong learning by building a strong academic base, while fostering spiritual and social growth in a loving and accepting environment. God’s Word, the foundation of our curriculum, is integrated into all areas and activities. Core subjects include Bible, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts. Enrichment classes include STEM, Music, Art, Physical Education, and Library.

Academics

Academic excellence at Little Rock Christian starts in the lower school with the early childhood and elementary curriculum. The elementary teaching staff is dedicated to helping students grow and use their minds to explore truth and dive deep into learning. Each day elementary students are encouraged to explore, create, and discover.

K3-Kindergarten has a lead teacher and assistant for every classroom which allows for a smaller teacher/student ratio.
Grade-level teams as well as vertical teams plan and meet together to allow for cohesion between the classroom.
Students attend enrichment classes weekly including STEM, Music, Reading Room, Art, and Physical Education.
Technology is used to enhance classroom instruction and build valuable learning and research skills.
Bible is incorporated throughout the curriculum and challenges students to grow in their personal relationship with God. Emerging leadership skills are fostered through student-led worship and co-curricular activities.

Bible Overview

The focus of the Lower School at Little Rock Christian is the establishment of spiritual foundations. The teacher plays a significant role in modeling, loving and instructing students in order to instill in them a love for God and His Word. Children are introduced to the story of God through His people with the emphasis on the redemptive plan of God. In Scripture, we read of Jesus telling His disciples to let the children come. Our heart is for Jesus’ love to be reflected so that students are ultimately drawn to Him.

Navy or white polo style shirts with collar and placket. Hunter green field trip shirt OK.
Oxford cloth button down shirts - Light blue or white, short or long sleeved.
Turtlenecks and under shirts - Navy or white, short or long sleeved. May be worn under a uniform shirt (for example, Under Armor).
Shirts are to be tucked in while in uniform. May wear Warrior Wear untucked.

PANTS

Navy, khaki, stone, blue wash denim jeans or corduroy. Elastic waist or belt loop styles.

SHORTS

Navy, khaki, or stone. Elastic waist or belt loop style. Must be no shorter than 2” above the knee.

BELTS

Any style or color belt worn with belt looped pants or shorts.

SHOES

Any color closed toe, neat and clean. Tennis shoes are required on PE Days.

SOCKS

Any style and color. Must be worn at all times.

SWEATSHIRTS AND SWEATERS

Navy, white or any Warrior Wear. No emblems.

OUTERWEAR

Coats, jackets, hats, scarves, gloves worn only outside the building.

HAIR

Trimmed off the ear and collar, natural color, out of the eyes, and conservative in style. Certain ethnic distinctions will be considered in line with a student's heritage.

OTHER

No visible tattoos or body piercings.
