Parents are responsible to take student temperatures before coming to campus. 99.6+ keeps a child home before coming to school. Once at school, a fever of 100.4 triggers school isolation for children. Families will be called to pick up their child. See the FAQs for more information on this.
We await final guidance from the ADH on how many hours a person must be fever-free (a temperature of 99.6 or less) before they are allowed to return to school. This may be a severe ruling but know that in this temporary situation, being fever-free is a significant factor in reducing community spread and keeping school open.
In ORANGE, face coverings (masks/shields) are expected of all adults and students (1 -12) during the school day. At this time, face coverings are required of students, grades 1-12, for arrival and dismissal. All students, 1-12, will wear face coverings in the classroom and outside of the classroom. K3, K4, and K5 may wear face coverings as directed by parents. Persons medically unable to wear a face covering will have appropriate accommodations.
Warrior families will be issued a front car window decal. Warrior families will be waved through the gate unless they plan to enter a school building. If Warrior parents have an approved appointment to enter a school building, they will be asked the purpose of the visit and asked a standard questionnaire before entering a building.
Campus visitors will be screened at the campus gate or a building entrance using a standard questionnaire.
Building access is extremely limited. You will feel the pinch of this boundary. But, medical counsel is very clear – we have to "stop it at the door!" This means that during ORANGE, parents will not be able to enter a building without an appointment for a specific purpose with House leadership.
Students are limited to their House (educational building). The ATC (Building #2) is limited to Elementary. In ORANGE, Warrior Hall is limited to Upper School. Warrior Hall has two primary zones: 7-8 and 9-12. The Indoor and Arena are limited to Upper School.
CLASSROOM, GRADE LEVEL, ZONE OR BUILDING CLOSURE
Classroom, grade level, zone or building closure will be determined using ADH guidance for response to a clinical test-positive case of COVID-19. The ADH will trace the exposure. The ADH will inform us of who is to be notified of exposure risk. As noted by the Governor last week, the ADH has three levels of response - green, yellow and red – depending on the circle of exposure. It may be a small group, classrooms, grade levels, zones or buildings. We will be advised to administer the most appropriate response. HIPAA privacy laws prevent the public identification of individuals with a test-positive. If you have a test-positive in your home, please notify Wendy Lynn, Lead Nurse, immediately @ 501-912-2327.
LRCA VIRTUAL LEARNING (AMI)
LRCA virtual learning is always running in the background. This option for learning is available for high-risk persons, anyone quarantined and families who elect full-time virtual learning at the regular tuition rate. If a family elects AMI, they have the option to switch back to face-to-face learning as negotiated through the House Administrator and Division Leaders. In addition to full-time virtual learning, we offer a hybrid model that combines on-site and virtual learning. More details on this will be shared before August.
CO-CURRICULARS, ENRICHMENT, AND ELECTIVE
Elementary: In orange, enrichment activities will be streamed directly to the primary classroom. In yellow, the enrichment teacher comes to the primary classroom for a live lesson.
Middle School: Enrichment & Electives are held in Middle School only zones.
Junior High and High School: Electives/Athletics are held in Warrior Hall and Athletic facilities with separate, unique times for each division. Disinfecting by hand as well as fogging will take place on a regular schedule as well as when needed.
Lunch will be in self-contained classrooms or cohorts in designated areas, depending on the age group. High school will have two lunch periods, grade 9-10 and 11-12, to allow for proper social distancing. Outside dining is being expanded for upper school. Details on our food service program will follow before August 3.
OUTDOOR PLAY, aka Recess
In ORANGE, lower school recess is restricted to one classroom cohort per playground zone at a time.
Afternoon dismissal is staggered. Maps of student dismissal locations will be available by the start of school.
- Families with Elementary children ONLY will be dismissed @ 2:40p.
- Families with Elementary children AND children in other buildings will be dismissed at 3:00p.
- 2:40p and 3:00 are NOT "either/or." (These are assigned group dismissals.)
- Middle School and Junior High will be dismissed @ 3:06p.
- High School will be dismissed @ 3:15p.
- Middle School and Junior High students ARE NOT allowed to walk to the Elementary lines for dismissal. Students are not allowed in other classroom buildings in order to avoid cross-contamination.
Our goal is to provide your student(s) fresh and nutritious food for lunch. We will do our best to meet everyone’s expectations, and still comply with ADH guidelines and the Warrior Wellness agreement. With that being said, lunch this year will look a little different. We will be following all social distancing guidelines, in order to provide lunch in a safe environment for our students. Due to that fact, our lunch policies and menus will look a little different this year so that we may provide lunches for everyone with contactless distances.
The food staff has always washed hands and worn gloves when handling food products, which follows health and food guidelines in general, but they will also be wearing masks, and will change gloves more frequently when in contact with others. In order to follow the social distancing guidelines, the food staff will be bagging the lunches for students, and will have little to no contact with students. Please click here to see each individual building's approach to getting the lunches to our students each day. To comply with social distancing guidelines, all lunches will be prepared and packaged ahead of time. Due to that fact, everyone (pre-k to seniors) are required to pre-order.
If your student has a dietary need or allergy we will do our very best to accommodate their needs. We do have a list of elementary students from the school nurse that informs us of allergies, but if you have students in other grades, or would like to make sure we know, please do not hesitate to call or email us.
